Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: Hey JD, welcome back from your tour with Black Label Society and Ozzy!
Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 1. How are you?
JD: amazing!!

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 2. How was Europe?
JD: Fuckin rocked!!!

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 3. Where are you now?
JD: In jersey

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 4. For your fans can you please tell us; Besides metal, are there any other genres of music you consider your work to be?
JD: All aspects of rock. Its heavy, its funk, its soul, blues, fusion, classic.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 5. Who are your major influences?
JD: Steve Harris was my first and Randy Rhoads. Then I learned about jazz and soul music. Jaco Pastorius and James Jamerson are my heros.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 6. How long have you been a playing bass guitar, drums and the piano?
JD: Bass for 30 years, piano and drums about 5

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 7. Of all the other bands you played with, does one stand out as having a great impact or significant change your life/career personally?
JD: They've all impacted my life positively.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 8. Is there anyone you haven't yet, but would still like to record with, if you had the opportunity?
JD: Everyone!!! I'd love to write songs for Evanescance or any other artist for that matter.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 9. Do you have a record label for yourself or solo recordings?
JD: Yes, I'm doin a solo project right called C.O.P. hard rock, similar to BLS. Its comin out on Reform records.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 10. What can you tell me about your instruments, I.e., are you a still sponsored by Schecter guitars?
Schecter, Samson, Zoom, GHS and now Hartke

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 11. What about your signature string set from GHS strings? How is that going?
JD: They’ re still workin’ on them. Hope they'll be done in the next couple of months.



Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 12. What made you choose the instruments you have now? Was it cost or was it a style/model/brand/color preference?
JD: Sound baby!!!

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 13. Have you performed in many venues as a solo musician?
JD: A few

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 14. What are your favorite and least favorite venues?
JD: MSG fav.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 15. Do you have any upcoming shows?
JD: With BLS we got some shows in october on the west coast. My band should be playin in the next couple of months.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 16. Which songs do you perform most frequently?
JD: Stillborn

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 17. Who writes your songs?
JD: My songs are mine!! and my band writes as well.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 18. What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs?
JD: Just what I’ve lived.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 19. Do you think these topics will change over time?
JD: Never

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 20. Could you briefly describe the music-making process?
JD: Come up with ideas, then put them down in my studio. Then work the vocals.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 21. What are your rehearsals generally like?
JD: Drunken party

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 22. Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
JD: With BLS we'll rehearse before the tour.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 23. How has your music evolved since ... say, like back in the day with Lita Ford to now with Black Label Society?
JD: I’ve grown as a musician tremendously since then.



Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 24. What has been your biggest transition challenge being the bassist in such a well know band?
JD: Drinkin again!!!

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 25. Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
JD: Get drunk!

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 26. How do you feel about the legion of fans/family of the BLS and their undying devotion and loyalty?
JD: We have the greatest fans on the planet and i tell them all the time!

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 27. Have you ever witnessed anything on this level before?
JD: It’s been growing steadily. Kind of like the dead or phish.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 28. Do you have lifelong goals or dreams your still aspiring to achieve?
JD: They're all coming true!!!!

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 29.What advice do you have for people who want to make their life career perfuming in a band or as a solo artist?
JD: Get ready for a bumpy ass ride!!!

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 30. Other than www.johnjddeservio.com, do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?
JD: Not yet.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 31. How else can fans/fans-to-be gain access to your music?
JD: It'll be on my website when it’s finished, and my myspace. COP will have our own sites in time as well.

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 32. As I end this interview, I want to let everyone know how generous and giving you are and that you are devoted to and support many great causes and charities. Are their any you would like to mention now?
JD: St Judes and Children’s Cancer

Metal Kel S.D.M.F.: 33. Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge or thank?
JD: God, family and all our fans.

JD: Nah!! thats about it!!
