HMTV Canada: 1. Hi Rebirth How ya doin ? How are things in Arizona lots of action happening these days?
Rebirth: Things are going well. Arizona is good, the scene out here has become much more unified throughout the past year. I think a lot of the bands and promoters finally removed their heads from their asses and realized that if we work together instead of against one another it would make a better music scene for us all and it has.
HMTV Canada: 2. I s rebirth in the process of reforming new members for the band?
Rebirth: Yes Rebirth is currently in the process of reforming with new members. We are currently seeking a permanent bassist, guitarist, and drummer. However, Tommy Gibbons from the band Koama is going to be temping for us on guitar for live shows and tours until we find a new permanent virtuoso guitar player. Basically with this new line up we are looking for the best of the best. I want the total package with each new member. Each person must have talent, tons of personality, and be driven and dedicated as all fucking hell. We have no fucking tolerance for undriven or flakey personalities. Our plans are basically to turn Rebirth into the best and biggest metal band in the world and we want the best to do it along with us.
HMTV Canada: 3. What is the latest news with Rebirth?
Rebirth: We are currently waiting to release our new album "The Process of Obliteration". We will do so once we have the members to play it live. Upon its release we will embark on probably what's going to be a month long tour of the midwest and west coast and reak havoc in every city that we stop in, Black fucking Hearted style.
HMTV Canada: 4. How did you become connected to make music and who are your current members?
Rebirth: I think a better question would be what happened to the old members so I'm going to address that right now. Our lead guitarist decided that he didn't want to shred Rebirth anymore and would rather focus his energy towards his girlfriend and "other pursuits" he called it. After his departure the drummer and bassist decided that they didn't want to invest the time and engery into finding a replacement so they left as well. Tommy Gibbons who shared the stage with Rebirth many times before with his band Koama informed me that he would love to temp for Rebirth live until we found a permanent replacement for the original guitarist. His band Koama will be accompanying us on our cd releases tour.
HMTV Canada: 5. I was listening to your music the other night didn’t get much accomplished in my work instead I got into some serious head bangin getting into Rebirth music it was awesome! Can you tell us about your own unique style of music?
Rebirth: That's fucking awesome and that is exactly the kind of shit we love to hear. Rebirth has it's own unique style of metal, we are heavy, thrashy, aggressive as hell, yet still melodic. I don't think many bands combine those elements as effectively or as much as we do. Our whole goal with this band from the begining was to take heavy influences from the old school styles of metal and put our own twist into it to give our music it's own personality. Rather than just being a revisitation of the past I think we've done a good job of adding something new to the mix of the older great metal bands from the mid 80's and early 90's.
HMTV Canada: 6. Your lyrics are fantastic they reflect on what’s happening in the world today attitudes of civilization who is the genius that writes your songs?
Rebirth: Well the music was crafted by the previous members, we would all feed off each other and be like hey try this or that. Etc. However, Marshall "Fucking" Beck writes the lyrics and does the vocals.
HMTV Canada: 7. Do you have any musical influences?
Rebirth: Ha! Many.
HMTV Canada: 8. What is Rebirth live shows like and how are fans reacting to your music?
Rebirth: The fans go fucking nuts everytime we go on stage because we have an extremely passionate and energetic live performance. The fans also know that if they do not go as equally crazy and display the same amount of passionate hellfire as the band, that Rebirth will not play for them and move on to play for a better crowd. We love the old school circle mosh pits and we pretty much demand them at every show, watching the chaos helps keep us fired up.
HMTV Canada: 9. How many albums have Rebirth created? Do you have a record label?
Rebirth: We currently have our first release which was done to sound old school and extremely raw. It's called "The Great Deciever". We have our live cd entitled "Live Noise in Seattle" and our soon to be released second full length "The Process of Obliteration". We do not currently have a label, so far no label has had the balls to take us on board.
HMTV Canada: 10. What kind of recording environment do you have? Do you rehearse often before performing live music venues?
Rebirth: We typically rehearse two days a week for about 5-6 hours each day. Then we usually go through the set once or twice and then begin working on new material. In the past when we've recorded we've tried to keep a supportive and comfortable environment, while still maintaining the surrounding atmosphere of the mood in the music that we are trying to convey.
HMTV Canada: 11. Can we buy The Great Deciever and Process of Obliteration on Itunes? Where can we buy Rebirth CD’s and merchandise?
Rebirth: You can buy it through our myspace by messaging us at www.myspace.com/Rebirth , through cd baby at www.cdbaby.com/Rebirth or on just about any downloadable music program. "The Process of Obliteration" has not been made available yet. However, our live album is. Our live album features some of the songs off the Process album and they can be easily downloaded or obtained from our myspace as well.
HMTV Canada: 12. Do you perform gigs in Arizona frequently? Will you be touring throughout the US and outside the US in the future?
Rebirth: Yes, Yes, and Yes. That's the plan and those are the goals.
HMTV Canada: 13. When it comes to playing live at music venues what are some of the highlights of Rebirth? Most popular songs played, rewarding experiences from playing live?
Rebirth: It's rewarding to watch people go fucking nuts for your music, especially when they scream every lyric back in your face. I think one of the most rewarding experiences of doing this band is when people thank you for the positive influence you've had on their lives. Metal had a huge and very positive influence on my own so it feels great to return the favor.
HMTV Canada: 14. Do you have any band goals right now? What are you looking forward to the most right now as a band?
Rebirth: Lots of touring and touring.

HMTV Canada: 16. What would be your advice for people who want to form their own bands in the music world today?
Rebirth: I'll say this again. If you don't have the balls to venture through and learn the hell that is the industry, go play it safe and get a 9-5.
HMTV Canada: 17. Is there any shout outs or anyone you would like to acknowledge any last words?
Rebirth: We would like to thank the bands that have helped Rebirth craft and inspire its sound. Slayer, Pantera, Old Metallica, Megadeth, Venom, Motorhead, Celtic Frost, older Avenged Sevenfold, Mortician, Vehemence, Fear Factory, The Doors, Cannibal Corpse... fuck I could go on forever... We would also like to thank all the bands in Arizona that have been supportive as hell, as well as the Arizona Metal Mafia and Tom from Bulldog Productions for helping book the majority and best of Arizona's metal shows.
